The Maini ADVENTures - Uckfield's Late Night Shopping Event and Festival of Trees- review

The atmosphere at Uckfield's festive Late Night Shopping event every December is always electric! We have a few favourite spots I like to make sure we see, one being Carvills, not least for their lovely mulled wine while you browse their pretty interior store but also their utterly gorgeous window displays. The twins were mesmerised by the snow falling inside!

We also love to see Uckfield's resident juggler, especially when he gets the flaming batons out!

Bridge Cottage has some lovely stalls selling all sorts of arts and crafts, yet more similar stalls can be found in various estate agents on the High Street, Waitrose has their usual delicious tasters (and more mulled wine) and Uckfield's Fire Brigade are outside with their fire engine for the kids to explore and learn about fire safety. The hog roast and BBQ are always going and the stone baked pizza truck, this year we also spotted pancakes and biltong! We always stop in Truffles bakery too and the twins chose a cookie and a cake pop for a treat this year. There's so much more going on, we struggled to see everything, I loved the new walk-through nativity this year too even though I only saw the start and the end!

And probably my absolute favourite - The Festival of Trees in Holy Cross Church with no less than 115 trees this year! The church is filled with the glowing festive lights and cheerful decorations as you wonder around between the pews to see trees decorated by various local businesses, groups and schools. It's beautiful and uplifting and raises funds for charity through donations. We didn't make it on the night as the queue was too long, it's very popular but luckily it's on all weekend so we waited in a much shorter queue on Sunday instead.

I'm already looking forward to next year's event!
