It's up! It probably would have happened earlier this year but I didn't want it to die before Christmas!! I've seen so many people decorating for Christmas early this year and why the hell not?! After this year, I think we all deserve to find a little joy however we can and I know my tree certainly brings me plenty of it! I love gazing at it in the evenings - it's a thing of beauty and just so colourful, I am thrilled with this year's arrangement :D
I may have tweaked it a little more since I took this photo so I'll share some more on Instagram soon, be sure to check out my nifty reel of the before & after too!
We went back to White House Farm this year in Cooper's Green, Uckfield to get our usual Nordmann Fir. The twins loved helping snip off the netting and I did the dreaded lights (I'm quite fussy about every aspect of the tree and the lights are the all important base once you've chosen the perfect shaped tree - well we do have it in our living room for a whole month, it has to be right)!
After that comes the fun part! Nik and the kids helped me hang the ornaments (I was in charge of our precious glass ones) and they did a great job at organising the layers of colour with me. I didn't have to do many tweaks at the end ;)
We have a couple of new special decorations this year including this one of a digger from John Lewis. Diggerland was our one and only trip away this year, we went for the day and all loved it so I had to get this one as our 2020 memory.
Other favourites I bought last year include my orange octopus from Paperchase and my yellow banana from Amazon, there's at least one special one for every colour now among my packs of single coloured baubles. (I'll add some photos when I have a chance to take some during the day to capture all the colours!)
We decided to go back to a conventional spectrum this year with our red finial at the top. (Last year we had blue at the top!)
And here's a little time lapse of the process from start to finish (well, I'd already done the top two sets of lights before I remembered)!
Merry Christmas!!!
P.S. If you'd like photos of you decorating for Christmas with your family, I would LOVE to help.
