Cheese is probably the food I'd struggle to live without the most! I love it!
From ooey gooey baked camembert to sweet cream cheese icing, there's not much you can't enjoy with cheese!
Here's my favourite recipe for camembert baked in the oven. It's so simple and quick to prepare and adds a little extra something to the rich cheese.
Ingredients:
1 Camembert
1 clove garlic, sliced
1 sprig rosemary or thyme, cut into small pieces
Drizzle of olive oil
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Salt & pepper to taste
Method:
Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan).
Open the Camembert box and remove the inner packaging. Place the cheese back in the wooden box and put this inside the lid.
Use a sharp knife to make small slits (approximately 8-10) in the surface of your cheese and insert your garlic slices and herbs into each one.
Sprinkle your salt, pepper and nutmeg over the top and drizzle with olive oil.
Place the cheese onto a baking tray in case of any leaks and bake on the top shelf of the oven for around 15-20 minutes.
Serve with slices of toasted sourdough, crudites and/or crackers of your choice.
The twins love it! K in particular gets VERY excited about baked camembert.
I need to get my assistant (Kalyan) to work on his nail cleaning skills but look at that hot cheese!! Those crispy edges are delicious!
