In just two weeks I'm off to Manchester for my first conference speaking gig thanks to my business mentor, Julie Christie (affiliate link).
Receiving an email from Julie inviting me to be a guest speaker at her conference was the icing on the cake of an awesome week teaching at our first Camera Chameleons Retreat in Brighton. Of course I jumped at the chance to speak about my passion in Manchester this autumn and replied instantly with a big fat yes! (Before flinging myself down the stairs in excitement to tell Natalie!!)
I'll be talking about how to "Escape Your Rut With Personal Photography Projects & Play" - discussing fun techniques, the importance of personal projects and getting creative in life and work to help prevent you getting stuck in a business rut. Julie's put me in charge of getting everyone off their bums and outside to play and I can't wait to share some practical fun with all the attendees!
It's quite an epic line-up with the other awesome speakers, Rebecca Holmes, Lee Fletcher, Anja Poehlmann and Dorte Kjaerulff as well as Julie herself of course.
I've met all of them except Dorte before and can attest that they're all wonderful humans who really know their stuff! (I also love that both Rebecca and Julie are using headshots taken by me!)
I can't wait to meet more new people and fellow camera geeks and delve into this passion of ours for a couple of days! I'm travelling up with my photo bestie Kirsty (fresh from another Paris trip the week prior so we'll still be buzzing from that creative getaway too) who also features in my presentation!
