We're busy doing the summer holiday juggle here and trying to plan some fun family days in between work and holiday clubs.
On Friday, to cap off the first week of the school holidays, we met up with some friends in Hastings, starting off at Smuggler's Adventure! The view from the entrance is beautiful, sweeping across the rooftops down to the sea. Note it is nowhere near the sea which we had envisaged, and despite following a map and driving around for ages we were baffled, until we discovered the entrance is in a park half way up a big hill!
Once inside we soon got the kids locked up in stocks and enjoyed exploring the caverns and tunnels.
The main reason for our visit to Hastings (an hour's drive away from Uckfield), was to have lunch at Half Man, Half Burger as it was enthusiastically recommended by Emma! We weren't disappointed, K is still talking about it!
After a wander around town (yes, I did pick up a couple of bargain pieces of coloured glass for my collection), a couple of rides at the funfair and an encounter with the naked man of Hastings (apparently the highlight of the twins' day, K is still talking about all his jiggly bits too and no I did not take any photos!), we made our way to the beach for more fresh sea air!
All finished off with a bribe to get off the beach - dessert at the other branch of Half Man, Half Burger! P and I highly recommend their Key Lime Cream Pie! Yum!!
