OK, so I know I've been published in Click magazine 3 times now and yes, I did publish five whole editions of my own ENTIRE magazine (This Detailed Life, if you missed that phase of my life which began in lockdown)!
But, it's a different thing to be in a magazine that I didn't make (as my son just put it). For someone else to accept my pitch and Click, no less! If you don't know it, Click & Company is one of the biggest photography organisations in the USA (and worldwide). I've been a ClickPro for 4 years now and love the community.
"Click magazine reaches a circulation of 45,000. Single copies can be purchased at Barnes & Noble, the Click & Company Store, and various retailers nationwide. "
Anyway, when I've been featured before it's been as a part of a collaborative article or a photo in the Voice Collection. This is my first time having a full article, just me!
And OMG, it's only 6 bloody pages!!! Three double page spreads!
I am so delighted and chuffed to bits - it looks amazing! My name is even on the front cover. Goals achieved! (Next goal, getting a cover photo!)
So yes, they did like my pitch and were so encouraging! Here are the enthusiastic responses I got after submitting the form and various emails about the content:
Absolutely love this idea! Let's do it! Thank you for pitching this, Bex!
I'm excited- so glad you pitched the idea!
We're honored your doing this article for the mag, Bex :)
You're a dream to work with!
I am SO thrilled with how it turned out, it looks amazing and they've chosen such great images to sit together on the pages!
Little did I know at the time but I pitched it at JUST the right time as I found out later that this was the last ever print version of the magazine as it's now gone digital only. I'm sad that it's no longer available in print but so happy that I was able to get printed copies of my first published magazine article by another magazine than my own!
Great stuff Bex, congratulations 😍
